Worship Ministries:   There are a variety of ministries in the church that you can become involved in, and many of them involve the Sunday worship service.  St. James Church has a large number of volunteers who give faithfully of their time and talent to the ministries of the church. Maybe there is something listed here below that you would like to do, if so please contact the Church Office at 709 695 2592 for more information.


Readers:  Readers from the congregation make an important contribution to worship by reading the scripture lessons.  

Music Ministry:   Our Music Ministry provides the musical leadership for Sunday Services and special services. If you like to sing please consider joining our Senior Choir  or if you have other musical talents please contact us.

The Servers Guild:  This group of people, both youth and adult, are trained to take on various duties including assistance in preparing for Holy Communion.take care of the sanctuary. They prepare the Altar for Sunday Worship and take care of the vestment hangings, flowers and any other decorations.

Greeters:  The responsibility of this group is to ensure that everyone receives a warm welcome at the door.

Sidespeople:  The sides people distribute the Order of Service and Sunday Bulletin on Sunday mornings. They also provide assistance during the service by collecting the offering and serving as ushers during the administration of Holy Communion.

Altar Guild:   The work of the Altar Guild is to prepare the church for all services, particularly the Altar, communion vessels, linens and vestment hangings, as well as the chancel flowers.  This group also decorates the church for festivals in the Christian year, gets the church ready for weddings, funerals and Baptisms.
